EAST LANSING, Mich. - Fellow Michigan State women's golf rising sophomores Michelle Bowles, Vanessa Leon and Aimee Neff advanced through the qualifying round of the 2008 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship on Tuesday, May 27.

Neff, a All-Big Ten Second Team selection, placed first in the qualifying event at Heatherwood Golf Club in Springboro, Ohio with an even-par 71. Meanwhile, Bowles and Leon were among four golfers tied for first at Lake Forest Golf Club in Ann Arbor, Mich. at of seven-over par 79.

The championship is scheduled to be held at the Erin Hills Golf Course in Erin, Wis. on June 16-21. The qualified 156 players will compete in two days of stroke play competition on June 16-17, to narrow down the field to 64 for the match play portion of the championship, which will run June 18-21.
