EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State volleyball coach Chuck Erbe signed Amanda Hantouli of Omaha, Neb., to a National Letter of Intent for the 2005 season, he announced Friday. Hantouli, a 6-1 middle hitter, attends Omaha Burke High School and plays her club ball with Nebraska Juniors of Omaha.

Senior season ended on Sept. 4, 2004 with a knee injury... Earned second-team all-state honors in 2003, as well as third-team Super State... Posted the state's top blocking average in 2003 at 1.6 blocks per game, 5.0 per match, and had 91 on the season... Had 216 kills and 46 service aces in 2003... Earned the Lincoln Journal Star's "Sensational Swatter" honor in 2003... Named to the 2003 all-metro volleyball team... Led all Class A schools in blocking as a sophomore (2002) and junior (2003)... Captained the team her senior season... Was a four-year letterwinner in volleyball, three-year letterwinner in basketball... Played club ball for Nebraska Juniors, where she was coached by Gwen Egbert and took fifth place in the 17 open division in 2004... Daughter of Gus and Nancy Hantouli... Plans to be a pre-med major.
